PASA silver jubilee from January 14

EMN PHEK, JANUARY 11 The 25th anniversary of Phek Area Sports Association (PASA) would be held from January 14 to 17 at Phek Village under the theme “Exploring Greater Heights.” The celebration would be graced by Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu and Yitachu as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively. Hukhonieyi Soho, PET, GHS, Phek village will act as the field marshall of the tournament, while Nukhuhuyi Sakha will be chief referee. 13 assigned umpires will assist the field marshall and the chief referee in conducting the events of the competition. Hukhonieyi Soho and Vephilu Hoshi will be the silver jubilee torch bearer. According to PASA official sources, the four-day long tournament marking the milestone of 25 years of its existence (Silver Jubilee) will feature seven track events for both the genders, seven field events for men and six field events for women including football, volleyball and basketball for both the genders. Individual prizes will be awarded to the best athletic, best footballer, best volleyballer, best basketballer for both the genders. Men’s football champion shall be decorated with Late. Thupuchiyi Khamo memorial trophy, women’s football champion shall be awarded with cash running money from all PASA Presidents donation, while women volleyball champion shall be honoured with Late. Mhanetalu Vero memorial trophy along cash running money of 20,000/-. A new team of executive council for the tenure 2015-2017 will be installed during the tourney by the search committee. On the arrival on 13 January, all units shall pay 2,000 as registration fee. There will be rehearsal ceremony on the arrival day by 1 pm onwards where all units are requested to submit 2 flags measuring 5X3. Business hour will be held on 13 January at 5 pm where executives, umpires and 2 representatives from each unit shall be eligible to attend the same.
