The Department of Health and Family Welfare renames Para Medical Training Institute to Nagaland Institute of Allied and Healthcare.

DIMAPUR — The Department of Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland has issued directives regarding the discontinuation of the term ‘paramedical’, following the administrative approval of the government dated November 11 and the directive of the National Commission for Allied and Health Care Profession (NCAHP) Act 2021 under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
According to a DIPR report, the name of the Para Medical Training Institute is officially changed to Nagaland Institute of Allied and Healthcare, Kohima.
Henceforth, the institute shall be officially known and referred to only as “Nagaland Institute of Allied and Healthcare, Kohima” in all official records, deeds, writing, proceedings and transactions, both private and public.
The use of the term ‘paramedical’ is strictly prohibited in all forms of usage, verbal, written or electronic.
All existing references to the Para Medical Training Institute in departmental records and further correspondence must be updated to reflect the new official name.
