Dimapur, Jan. 12: The chief secretary of Nagaland Pankaj Kumar has urged the younger generation to be free of traditions but seek to develop curiosity, creativity and innovativeness.
The chief secretary visited the national level Special National Integration Camp of the National Cadet Corps at Patkai Christian College in Chumukedima on January 11.
Smartly turned out cadets presented an impressive Guard of Honour for the dignitary. It was followed by traditional folk dances by cadets from Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Nagaland.
In his address, the chief secretary expressed his amazement at the enthusiasm and proficiency of cadets in putting up a ‘mini India’ in such a short stay in the camp.
In his talk to the cadets, Pankaj Kumar exhorted them to break free from traditions and develop curiosity, creativity and innovativeness. Consistent hard work throughout life should be the mantra for success, he toldthem. The chief secretary quoted anecdotes from human history which have taken human civilization towards development such as computers, internet and smart phones and increased the speed of change of human civilization.
Kumar also advised the cadets to develop a greater capacity to not get offended, to have greater tolerance, and to follow the Rule of Law. Likewise, the chief secretary advised the cadets, as future generation leaders, to optimise the use of technology, and to develop clean sources of energy, exploit microchip and 3D printing technology as well as genome mapping and driverless cars. All these, will be available for the new generation coming.
Pankaj Kumar complimented the cadets for their spirit of adventure, discipline and the enthusiasm to preserve the unity in diversity of the country.
