Dimapur, Aug. 18 (EMN): Minister for Transport, Civil Aviation, Railway, and Land Resources, P Paiwang Konyak, inspected two sites for construction of civil helipad near Mon village which is located about 5 km away from Mon headquarters on Aug. 16. An update from the DIPR on Saturday informed that Konyak visited two sites in order to select the best and suitable site for the helipad.
During theinspection, the minister said, “Although road connectivity is very important, Nagaland being a hilly terrain, there are often road blockages due to land slide and mudslide, especially during monsoon seasons.”
Taking this into consideration, the Minister informed that the government is planning to provide air connectivity to every district headquarters and additional deputy commissioner headquarters so that alternative arrangements can be made during emergencies. The minister was accompanied by Mon deputy commissioner, superintendent of police (SP), additional SP, assistant commissioner, and party leaders, the DIPR informed.
