Painting on SDG held at Kisama

Dimapur, Dec. 3 (EMN): As part of the ‘SDG one stop destination,’ department of Planning and Coordination conducted a painting competition at the ongoing Hornbill Festival in Kisama on December 3 on the theme “Nagaland for sustainable development goals.”

The objective of the completion was to visualise SDG from the lens of Naga culture and heritage.

The first prize was won by Chorovelu Ringa, while the second and third prizes were won by Vijendra Singh and Mhonbeni Ngullie. The winners were awarded prizes by Nayantara Sasikumar, OSD (Planning) and SDG nodal official.

Speaking at the prize distribution programme, Sasikumar said, ‘We are delighted to see a good number of enthusiastic participants who creatively visualised the SDG from the perspective of Naga culture and heritage. We are happy to see the awareness level among the general public in Nagaland.”

It mentioned that the department has set up the ‘SDG one stop destination’ to disseminate the SDG innovatively during the Hornbill Festival from December 1 to the 10th at Kisama near the food park. The SDG destination has an SDG information desk and activities aligning to SDG such as quizzes, games, short film screenings, pledges, and much more on all days during the festival.

The theme of all the activities is around the SDG -- the 17 ambitious global goals associated with 169 targets to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all of by 2030.
