Dimapur, March 12 (EMN): As part of the week-long celebration of International Women’s Week from March 1-15, Nagaland Adolescent Girls Club (NAGC), Nagaland State Social Welfare Board (NSSWB), State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW), Women Helpline-181, and Sakhi-OSC has observed the event at Bayavü Hill High School, Kohima, on the theme “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.”
The audience consisted of students, staff and faculty members in which
Vikhoriano Meru, OSC centre administrator, was the chairperson of the event.
Juliana Medom, assistant state coordinator, has delivered introduction on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and the schemes of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, that cater to children and women such as Childline-1098, Women Helpline-181, and Sakhi-OSC.
She also introduced on the initiation of guitar class for the AGC girls by presenting a guitar to the school from the NSSWB.
The painting competition was also organised following the programme with Lanuienla Imchen, helpline manager WHL-181, who introduced the concept behind organising the competition to the students.
In the junior category, Suraj of Class VII secured the first position, while Ms Tinatoli of Class VII secured the second position, and Ezanthung of Class VI secured the third position.
In the senior category, Ms Julia of Class IX ‘A’ secured the first position, while Ms Ketoulhoubeinuo Usou of Class IX secured the second position, and Daükup of Class X secured the third position.
