Dimapur, Oct. 24 (EMN): Commemorating the nation-wide tourism campaign ‘Paryatan Parv,’ INTACH Nagaland, in collaboration with Ministry of Tourism and the State Tourism Department observed a heritage walk with the participating schools around the Kachari ruins and also conducted a painting competition in the premises of Circuit House, Dimapur, on October 24. Altogether seven schools participated in the event.
Likhum Longkumer, Grade VI student of The Maple Tree School, was declared winner of the painting competition and won cash prize of Rs 3000. The four consolation prizes of Rs 1000 each were also given to Bodü Rhakho, Class VII student of Hollotoli School; Nikina Yeptho, Class IX student of Delhi Public School; Joshua Jakha, Class IX student of Delhi Public School; and Itna Kiba of Delhi Public School.
It may be mentioned here that the nationwide tourism campaign ‘Paryatan Parv’ was launched by the Ministry of Tourism from October 5-25 with the objective of drawing focus on the benefits of tourism, showcasing the cultural diversity of the country, and reinforcing the principle of ‘Tourism for All.’
Meanwhile, INTACH Nagaland Chapter has thanked Keshonyu Yhome, Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur; Sanjay Kashliwal of Synergy Systems who supported the first prize; Rajen Sharma of Plaza Bakery; judges of the competition Merensenla Wati and Tasang Imchen; principals of the various schools and teachers who accompanied the students; Ministry of Tourism, and the State Department of Tourism.
