Dimapur, Dec. 1 (EMN): The Public Action Committee (PAC of Naga Council Dimapur has threatened to call for a for a 12 hour bandh on Dec. 7 from 5 am to 5 pm with regard to the shooting incident at the Riven Honda showroom in the month of November.
The PAC-NCD convenor Vekhosayi Nyekha and co-convenor, G. Ghokheto Chopy, through a press release, said that the an emergency meeting of the committee was held at the Naga Council office and deliberated on the issue of the Riven Honda show room shooting case.
It stated that the PAC, “on good faith called off the proposed bandh assuming the arrest of the suspected NSCN IM cadres would lead to arrest of the actual culprits”.
However, the PAC stated that the culprits remain at large and that the arrest of some suspects alone would not deter to call for a bandh.
“The PAC therefore, have extended five days to the authority to arrest the actual culprits, in case of failure ,the PAC have decided to call for Dimapur 12hrs bandh from 5.00am to 5.00pm on the 7th Dec 2018,” the press release stated.
The PAC has convened a meeting with all the tribal hohos, Naga councillors, DCCI, BAN, DUCCF,GBs and Naga Women Hoho Dimapur on Dec. 4 at 3 pm in the Naga Council office “to deliberate on the bandh and the course of action” related with it.
Meanwhile, the PAC also appreciated the timely arrest of the culprits involved in the kidnapping of some businessmen of Dimapur namely, Brownson Tangkhul (35) and Sunikiu Tikhir (23) belonging to the NSCN (IM) group.
The The PAC also vehemently condemned the kidnapped of the manager of KK transport agency and attempted kidnapping of another staff by the NSCN IM on Dec 1.
“Such act of criminals have no place in our society, the concern NPG should immediately release the victim who works to earn for their living, the NPGs should not think to achieve the aspiration of the Nagas through such act of criminality, where the public are in tears enough is enough,” the PAC stated.
