Dimapur, May 5 (EMN): Four legislators visited on Fri. May 3 some areas of Potinakup in Sanis range in Wokha district. The tour was to 'understand the problems faced by the people of the area,' updates on Sunday stated.
A press release on Sunday informed about the tour of Tongpang Ozukum, minister for PWD; Dr. Neikiesale Kire, advisor for Rural Development; Mmhonlumo Kikon, advisor for IT; and Mhathung Yanthan, advisor for Horticulture. Yanthan's office issued the press release.
Accompanying the legislators were officials from various departments; political leaders and elders from the area, the updates stated.
A public meeting was held at Pyotchu village, stated to be the last hamlet in the Sanis range, the updates stated.
'The legislatures interacted with the people and had a first-hand experience of the road conditions, poor infrastructure and pitiable economic condition of the people there,' the press release stated.
The visiting legislators urged the villagers to cooperate with the government and the initiatives being taken by their local representative Mhathung Yanthan and assured them of addressing their problems, the press release added.
