Kezieke Youth Organisation holds oyster mushroom farming programme, promoting sustainable livelihood

DIMAPUR — The Kezieke Youth Organisation (KYO) organised an informative and engaging oyster mushroom farming programme at Kezieke community building, Kohima on Tuesday.
The programme witnessed the participation of 38 community members, especially women, who showed keen interest in exploring sustainable agricultural practices, an update stated.
The training session was conducted by Medokhriezo Marcus Kengurüse, vice president of KYO. He provided valuable insights into oyster mushroom cultivation, covering practical techniques and opportunities for small-scale entrepreneurship.
The interactive session also allowed participants to engage actively and share their thoughts.

The event was chaired by Neikhrietuo Albert, general secretary of KYO, who guided the proceedings. The programme began with an invocation by Teisovilie Rio, vice chairman of the Kezieke Welfare Board (KWB).
Greetings were delivered by Lhoulaneituo Pienyü, president of KYO, who highlighted the importance of skill-based initiatives for youth empowerment.
This was followed by an exhortation from Tseilievinuo Sale, vice chairman of the Kezieke Welfare Board, encouraging the community to adopt innovative and income-generating activities such as mushroom farming.
“The initiative reflects KYO’s continued commitment to promoting sustainable livelihood opportunities and empowering the youth through practical knowledge and community engagement,” it stated.
