Kohima, Feb. 20 (EMN): Civil registration of births and deaths under the department of Economics and Statistics recorded 2,266 deaths -- 802 in rural and 1,464 in urban -- in 2019 across the state.
A
total of 828 deaths (rural - 42; urban - 486) were registered in 2018 while 1836 deaths (rural-551; urban-1,285) were registered in 2017. In 2016, a total of 2,137 deaths (rural-705; urban-1,432) were recorded in the registration, while 2069 deaths (rural-708; 1,361-urban) were registered in 2015 as per the information provided by civil registration of births and deaths.
As per the statistical report, a total of 77,706 (rural-53,095; urban-24,611) number of births were registered in 2019 while about 47,357 (rural-34961;urban-12,396) were registered during 2018.
In 2017, about 69,121 births (rural-34,156; urban-34,965) were registered, while in 2016, about 72,984 (rural-36,416; urban-36,568) were registered, while 79,539 (rural-30,903; urban-48,636) were recorded in 2015.
