Over 200 avail health services at Lakhuti Reproductive Child Health Camp

Over 200 beneficiaries availed free health services including ANC check-ups, eye screening, OPD and insurance card generation at the Reproductive Child Health Camp in Lakhuti village, Wokha district.

DIMAPUR — District Health Society Wokha organised a Reproductive Child Health (RCH) Camp at Lakhuti Village Community Hall under Wokha district on Saturday.


According to a press release, speaking at the camp, Dr. Thungchanbemo Ezung, chief medical officer of Wokha, said the health camp was organised to provide quality health services in areas where medical officers are not posted and people have difficulty accessing medical treatment.


The RCH camp emphasised child and maternal health besides other health services, he added. Dr. Ezung informed that the medical team had also brought an ultrasound machine for ANC check-ups and urged the beneficiaries to avail themselves of the service.

He also thanked Mhonthung Yanthan, chairman of Lakhuti Village Council, for mobilising the beneficiaries and extending support in organising the health camp.


During the health camp, ANC check-ups for six pregnant women, general health check-ups for ten lactating mothers, general OPD, eye screening, and AB-PMJAY: Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY)/Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) card generation was provided to the beneficiaries. Nutritional food items for pregnant women and free medicines were also given to the beneficiaries.


IEC leaflets on immunisation, malaria, anaemia, hepatitis, family planning, and rabies were distributed to the beneficiaries by the ASHAs. The medical team included a gynaecologist, medical officers, DPMU staff, RBSK, MMU, and medical staff from Lakhuti PHC. More than 200 beneficiaries availed themselves of the health services during the health camp.
