DIMAPUR — A total of 1,542 candidates from Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Niuland districts participated in the first day of the Forest Guard physical test, held at Khunakhuru Ground, Jharnapani on July 7. The group included 211 female and 1,331 male candidates.
The second round of the physical test is scheduled for July 8 and will include three groups from Dimapur and Niuland. Officials expect around 2,300 candidates to take part.
These candidates are vying for 154 Forest Guard posts in Nagaland, out of a total of 23,672 applicants—highlighting both the state’s high unemployment rate and the strong demand for government jobs.
Divisional Forest Officer of Dimapur, Beizo Suokhrie, informed that 6,307 applications were received from Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Niuland districts. Of these, 3,881 candidates collected their admit cards.

The Forest Department is conducting physical tests across all 13 districts of Nagaland. The test includes a 24-kilometre run for male candidates and a 15-kilometre run for female candidates, both to be completed within a four-hour time limit.
The 13 districts include Kohima, Dimapur, Mon, Tuensang, Wokha, Zunheboto, Phek, Peren, Tseminyu, Chümoukedima, Mokokchung, Kiphire, and Longleng.
