A local students union in Kohima has cautioned authorities and students against “forgery of documents” especially by ‘non-indigenous (persons) for personal gains, and has warned of stern action “against any such individual,”
The Zhavame Students’ Union issued a press release on Tuesday, October 20. The organization also warned “locals patronizing such people in obtaining fraud documents without the knowledge of village council, women society, youth organization and students’ union as per the customary law.”Leaders of the Zhavame Students’ Union are said to have met with ‘seniors,’ ex-presidents of ZSU, members and leaders of various organization of Zhavame village on October 17 in Kohima town. The Zhavame Students’ Union issued a press release on Tuesday, October 20, informing about resolutions they undertook following the meeting.
During the meeting the issues the members of the group discussed were about “two major agendas: citizenship and environmental preservation at Kapamodzü,” the union said in the press release.
“The members taking serious concern over forgery of documents by some non-indigenous for personal gains, has warned with stern action against any such individual and also Locals patronizing such people in obtaining fraud documents without the knowledge of village council, women society, youth organization and students’ union as per the customary law,” the statement said.
On issues associated with Kapamodzü forest, the union said that “Kapamodzü forest being the most accountable source to the village with its rich natural resources, the house notify that anyone who damage the environment through any means shall be impose stern action.”
“Any developmental activities taken by an individual or group in an around Kapamodzü without prior permission from the village authority, the village council shall commence stern actions against any group or individual. Therefore, it is for the general information that deliberation brought may duly be noted,” the press release said.
