Our society is not willing to resist certain policies that conflict with our social moral code. This is our sorry story today.
We have been living with this fear of frenzied elements manufacturing policies against our interest for long, and with no one to whom we can consider as our pallbearer. We have been shuddered at the intense brutality and misplaced fervor of humanity but our society continues to be indifferent. This retrograde stand of our social organizations and public leaders has not only confirmed our weak society status, but it also reflects our hypocrisy. This very attitude of our society goads the cultural imperialists to further their activities. In fact, this dearth of willing spirit to explore things has failed to have a more equitable and empathetic interpretation of the existence of responsible society.
Again, if at all there are groups/leaders making attempts to redress the grim situation our movement often flounders in the murky politics of tribalism and we seldom see enlightened results. Slightest criticism of things can kick up tones of ruckus and the movement on benign causes often fails to withstand the onslaught as the dust is too thick that they cannot find the way out.
We know our society has discarded the old-fashioned belief that ‘people are much the same the world over’ but for our weakness we are not able to tell the world that ‘our differences do not lie on one dimension only.’
