
DIMAPUR — The Oriental Theological Seminary (OTS), Bade, conducted its 28th commencement programme at the Chümoukedima Ao Baptist Church on May 28.
An update from the seminary informed that 65 students have graduated across three postgraduate programmes of studies, the largest in the history of OTS. It included 47 students with the Master of Divinity degree, 14 students with the Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling, and 4 students with the Master of Theology Research degree.
The highlight of the commencement programme was the awarding of the Doctor of Divinity degree (Honoris Causa) to Prof. Along P Aier by the seminary. It stated that Dr. Aier’s career and ministry span across five decades as a teacher in various colleges, a speaker both at the local and global contexts, an internationally recognised faculty and trainer with the Haggai International and Langham Preaching International respectively, and a board member of various local, national, and international organisations.

It also mentioned that OTS is an institution sponsored by the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) and is the first institution in Nagaland to offer Masters’ level programmes in theological studies. It added that besides three Master’s degrees, OTS also currently offers the Doctor of Ministry programme, a professional degree for those who have long term experience in Christian ministry.
