Dimapur, April 16 (EMN): The Oting Youth Organisation (OYO) has strongly condemned the action of Assam Riffles (AR) for implicating two of its members as NSCN K cadres after abduction.
Accusing the 35AR of high handedness and cruelty, Panwang, OYO president, condemned the act of the AR jawans for abducting two innocent Oting villagers namely Nyanei Konyak and Lemnyei Konyak, who were tortured and held captive in their coy camp at Tizit and later branded them as NSCN 'K' cadres even after realising that the two were civilians.
The OYO questioned whether AR was for the protection of the Indian citizens or to abduct and torture innocent civilians for their own personal gain. ‘They should do away with the tag “Friends of the hill people” and be replaced with 'Enemy of the hill people,' OYO press statement said.
Further, OYO appealed to every right thinking citizens to condemn such reckless and inhuman act in every possible ways and means so that such incidents do not repeat elsewhere.
