Driving against the female feticides and carrying the message for women empowerment, Rishika Sahoo,a resident of Orissa drove all days and night in her two wheeler scooter (White-Scooty) to reach Manipur from Bangalore.
On September 14, Rishika, who’s a yoga teacher by profession, started her journey from Angul. On Thursday, she reached Imphal for her onward journey to Mizoram.
In what could be described as a ‘Woman Loyal Rider’, this 35 year old Oriya lady reached the state capital on Thursday crossing Nagaland where she was accorded hero’s welcome by the members of ‘Art of Living’, Manipur Chapter along with the members of All Manipur Working Journalists’ Association (AMWJU) at Manipur Press Club. After her formal reception function, Rishika kicked start her Scooty engine again to leave for Aizawl via Churachanpur on Thursday afternoon.
According to Rishika, she started her two-wheeler all India tour from September 14 from Orissa’s state capital Bhubaneswar and so far she had traveled about 7000 plus km covering about 21 Indian states including Manipur.
In an interaction with media she identified herself as a faculty of ‘Art of Living’, and she took up the campaign after getting blessing from her spiritual guru Ravi Shankar and logistically her husband and patronisers provided the support in her course of journey.
