DIMAPUR — The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Oriental College Kohima (OCK) organised a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on January 21, 22, 23, 28, and 29 on the theme ‘Unlocking faculty potential: Research and professional development goals’.
According to an update, the programme brought together resource persons from diverse academic backgrounds to enhance faculty competencies in teaching, research, assessment, mentoring, and academic leadership.
The inaugural technical session was conducted by Anisha Himb, assistant professor, Department of Language Education, State College of Teacher Education, Kohima, who spoke on the 'Pedagogy of learning'. On the second day, the session was led by Dr. Kevizakielie Suokhrie, vice principal (Academics), OCK, who discussed 'Assessment and evaluation in the context of NEP 2020'.

The third day featured a session by Dr. Imlisongla Longkumer, associate professor, Department of Psychology, Nagaland University, on 'Research proposal writing'.
The fourth day’s session was conducted by Dr. Watinaro Longkumer, principal, OCK, who spoke on 'Mentoring in Higher Education'.
The FDP concluded on the fifth day with sessions by Prof. Zavise Rume, director, International University Nagaland, Dimapur, and Prof. Dipak Kumar Shukla, vice-chancellor, International University Nagaland, Dimapur.
Prof. Rume spoke on 'Academic leadership', highlighting that effective leaders empower others to become leaders and promote a student-centric learning environment. Prof. Shukla addressed 'Institutional and academic development', presenting a strategic framework for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to achieve sustainable growth, academic excellence, and innovation.
