Oriental College in Kohima conducts workshop on photography

KOHIMA — The Journalism and Mass Communication Department of Oriental College in Kohima organised a workshop on photography on Friday at the IQAC Room, equipping students with both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure to the craft.
An update from the college stated that a freelance photographer, Velükho Nakro, led the workshop, wherein he presented his works and offered insights drawn from his professional experience.
It stated that Nakro spoke on the fundamentals of photography, followed by a demonstration of basic photography equipment. He further elaborated on the different types and genres of photography, while stressing the importance of ethics and responsibility in visual storytelling.

It further stated that the session witnessed a hands-on demonstration, where participants observed practical techniques and engaged directly with the equipment and methods discussed.
Nakro is the proprietor of Brook Besor Studio and serves as the co-founder and president of the Photography Club Kohima. He is also a member of the Federation of Indian Photography.
The session was chaired by Rülevelü Cükhamu, assistant professor of Journalism and Mass Communication.
