In an appeal to well-wishers and fans of wrestling, the management committee of the 25th Naga Wrestling Tournament to be held in Kohima Local Ground on March 10 and 11, has requested the spectators to avoid use of vehicles to reach the spot, to the extent possible, avoid smoking, alcohol and to cooperate with the organisers to maintain decorum. A press release issued by the organisers states that ‘all those spectators who are able to reach the venue at the local ground on foot have been requested not to bring vehicles so as to ease traffic and parking areas. Also, the drivers have been requested to park vehicles properly at the right places only.’
The spectators have been requested not to carry alcohol inside the ground.
In the interest of tranquility and peaceful conduct of the tournament, frisking at the gates may be imposed, according to management committee.
Stating that cleanliness is one of its priorities, it stated ‘we therefore appeal to one and all to use dust bins around you and not to litter around with any wrappers, bottles, etc.
The organisers also appealed to avoid smoking to the distress of fellow spectators, and mentioned that smoking is now prohibited in all public places nationally and internationally by law. This stricture is not an intrusion of privacy, it added.
Tickets will be available in 4 categories, each ticket is valid for 2 days of the tournament and one person will be allowed to enter for one ticket. Charges for tickets are donor Rs.3000 per card as fixed by NWA, class 1 chair Rs.500, Class 2 chair Rs.300 and gallery Rs.100.
Food and beverages will be available at reasonable rates. Z. Lohe, convenor, Management Committee, CBCK (MH), Kohima has appealed everyone to cooperate with the management.
