DIMAPUR — Members of the Kohima Press Club (KPC) visited Good Samaritan Senior Citizens' Home in Meriema, and interacted briefly with the residents of the institution and their caregivers.
At present, there are 23 senior citizen residents among whom the oldest is 95 years of age. It was learned that besides some old-age-related ailments, most of the residents are in good health. The press club donated several essential items to the institution.
In a similar programme, SD Jain Yuvak Sangh, youth wing of Jain Samaj Dimapur, celebrated Independence Day by visiting the Prodigals’ Home at Fellowship Colony, Dimapur.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]The members distributed food packets to the members of the Home. Meanwhile, SDJYS thanked and appreciated the good work that Prodigals’ Home was doing in the areas of child care and rehabilitation.
The members of the Dimapur Red Cross visited Bethesda Youth Centre (BYC) and interacted with the residents.
DRC vice chairman of Dimapur Red Cross, Ajay Sethi, exhorted the residents to shed their old habits and mindset and seek blessings from Jesus for a renewed life. He stated that everyone has the inherent capability to overcome any adversity for a better individual.
Longshithung Kithan, BYC programme officer, informed that BYC has rehabilitated many drug addicts and alcoholics and made them better citizens since its inception 35 years ago.
DRC contributed packets of rice, dal, milk, tea, and mustard oil towards the centre.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DCCF) members by its general secretary, Richard Haolai along with vice president, Temsupok Jamir, and youth convenor, Zhekato Yeptho, visited Sharon Home of Hope at Burma Camp and interacted with the residents.
DCCF also donated two bags of rice, one bag of dal and a box of sweets.
Meanwhile, the Muslim community in Kohima visited the children with disabilities and encouraged them and the staff to continue the good work. Nazmul Haque expressed his appreciation for the commendable job that the staff and the authority are rendering for the children, particularly the CWSN.
Meanwhile, the school authority expressed gratitude for receiving a wooden almirah for the classroom from the Muslim community Kohima.
The members of Nagaland Contractors’ and Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) led by its president, Pele Khezhie, visited Bright Morning Star Children’s Home in Kohima, while the Nagaland Adventure Club visited the Kohima District Jail.
