Dimapur, Jan. 23 (EMN): Procession marked the 122nd birth anniversary of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose on January 23. The programme was organised by Chatteswary Durgabari.
The organisation secretary, Biplab Paul, stated that more than 200 persons from age group joined the procession with full enthusiasm. Organisations including Hindu Seva Samiti, Bengali Youth Generation, Dimapur Bengali Students’ Union, Westyard Durgabari, and United Youth Association have also participated in the process.
The procession started from Chatteswari Durgabari making a round to Westyard colony, Kalibari road, GS road, Hokishe Sema road, Lhomthi colony, Sematila colony and passed through Xuvihe colony.
Meanwhile, the organisers have thanked the district administration for the cooperation in making the programme a success. It informed that cultural bonanza would be held at Chatteeswari Durgabari on January 26 at 5 pm.
In a separate programme, Netaji Subash Kala Kendra, Railway colony, also celebrated the 122nd birth anniversary of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose, with Kamala Kanta Paul, president of Dimapur Bengali Samaj, as the chief guest. Advocate Yogendra Prasad Gupta and Anjali Roy were the guests of honour.
Various speakers spoke on the life of Subash Chandra Bose and Azad Hind Fauj. They have advised the youth and children to follow the path of Subash Chandra Bose by being honest, brave, dedicated, fearless, self-confident and not to forget their rich culture and tradition.
The celebration was interspersed with songs in honour of Netaji by artistes including Debashree Dey, Ritika Chakraborty, Eshita Dey, Riya Dey, Sucharita Mahajan and Souvik Kar.
In connection with the 75th years of the First Azad Hind Fauj and 122nd birth anniversary of Subash Chandra Bose, Netaji Subash Kala Kendra has announced to organise an art and painting competition on February 3 in its premises at 10 am, Railway colony. The competition would be conducted in two groups ie from Classes I to IV and from Classes V to VIII.
