Dimapur, Nov. 11 (EMN): More condolences poured in for the former minister Yamakam on Sunday, who passed away on Nov. 9 at Zion Hospital in Dimapur.
ENPO: The Eastern Nagaland Peoples Organisation (ENPO) was ‘sad’ at the demise of a ‘great’ and senior most leader K Yamakam.
In a condolence message, the organisation remembered him as a man with “deep love and concern for the people of Eastern Nagaland.”
The ENPO recalled Yamakam as their ‘history book’ who had practically contributed and sacrificed during the turbulent times and brought peace in the region.
With his death the people of eastern Nagaland has lost an “outstanding” personality and a prominent leader. The organisation will always cherish the memory of his sincere dedication for the people, the press release stated.
The organisation conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed leader to rest in peace.
YUD: The Yimchungrü Union Dimapur (YUD) expressed “grief” at the demise of the former minister K Yamakam.
In a condolence note, the YUD described Yamakam as veteran politicians, pioneer, dynamic and charismatic leader, and mediator. The union remembered him as “a man of principle, integrity and commitment who always stood and work for the common peoples.
YUD stated that, his demise has left a huge social and political vacuum to the Yimchungrü community and is a great loss for the people and society which would be difficult to fill.
The union conveyed condolence with the bereaved family in this hour of grief and prayed that the Almighty grand solace to the departed soul.
PACSU: The Pungro Area College Students’ Union (PACSU) expressed sadness at the death of former minister, K Yamakam.
A press release from the union on Sunday stated that Yamakam was renowned amongst his tribesmen for being a guardian of Yimchunger Tribal Council (YTC). It said that he had served as head Dobashi before turning to politics.
The updates mentioned that Yamakam’s demise was a huge loss for Yimchunger people, adding that his illustrious deeds during his life time would be remembered in the days to come.
The union prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace, and asked God to grant solace to the bereaved family members.
T Torechu: MLA T Torechu expressed shock at the demise of K Yamakam. Torechu described Yamakam as a charismatic statesman, who possessed an unprecedented commitment for his people.
In a press note, Torechu stated that Yamakam’s immense political and social contribution for the state and the Yimchungru community will always be cherished and remembered. Torechu conveyed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty to grant solace and peace to the departed soul.
