SDF: SDF, in a condolence note, described Dr. Yeputhomi as a towering figure whose life was marked by service, faith, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people.

“His demise leaves behind an irreparable void not only within the Sümi community but across the entire Naga society,” it said, adding that Dr. Yeputhomi was the second son of late Hetoi Yeputhomi, a revered chief of Sükhalu village and a recipient of the British Empire Medal.

“He was united in marriage with Vitoli Zhimomi, the youngest sister of Küghato Sükhai, Ato Kilonser of the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN), and General Kaito Sükhai, Commander-in-Chief of the Naga National Army. This lineage reflects his deep roots in leadership, valour, and service to the Naga cause,” it read.

The note mentioned that he served as the first chairman of the United Revival Fellowship from 1980 to 1990, followed by his tenure as chairman of the Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Küqhakulu Nito Mount from 1993 to 2003. His leadership extended to wider Christian forums as a central council member of the Bible Society of India (1994 to 2000), executive member of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (2001 to 2004), and member of the Nagaland Peace Committee under NBCC (1997 to 2003).

Yet, his legacy will live on.

The SDF said that it stands in solidarity with the bereaved family and the larger Naga community during this time of grief and prays that God grants his soul eternal rest and peace and that his life’s work continues to inspire us to strive for unity, progress, and sacrificial service.
