Dimapur, Sep. 8 (EMN): Concerned Citizen’s Forum Mokokchung (CCFM) and the Senior Citizens’ Forum Mokokchung (SCFM) have affirmed its support to the declarations made during the 4th Naga People’s Consultation (NPC) on the Indo-Naga political talk held at Hebron on January 20 and 21, 2005.
The Naga people, representing different organisations from across the Naga homeland, had gathered in the historic two-day meet and held intensive and honest interactions with the collective leadership of the NSCN (IM), an update from CCFM and SCFM stated on Tuesday.
It mentioned that during the two-day interaction, the different Naga organisations had fully supported an honourable solution to the Indo-Naga political issue on the basis of the uniqueness of the Naga history and situation.
It added that the different organisations had agreed upon the legitimate rights for unification of all Naga areas, which was non-negotiable. It was agreed that the political solution should be found through peaceful means and that both the government of India and the National Socialist Council of Nagalim should uphold utmost sincerity towards finding a political solution.
The two organisations have also upheld the Ao Senden’s official position and mandate given to the National Socialist Council of Nagalim collective leadership in 2005. It has strongly supported the ongoing talk between the National Socialist Council of Nagalim and the government of India for a final settlement to the Indo-Naga political issue on the foundation of the Framework Agreement.
It has urged the government of India to exercise its democratic maturity and recognise the Naga national flag and constitution (Yezabo), without which, there could be no acceptable and honourable solution to Indo-Naga political solution.
The two organisations, while appreciating the present government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his statesmanship in showing genuine concern to resolve the Naga political issue, once again called upon the government of India to take into cognisance all the efforts and concord made between the Naga leaders and the five former prime ministers of Indian namely PV Narasimha Rao, Atal Behari Vajpayee, HD Deve Gowda, Inder Kumal Gujral, and Manmohan Singh, who had given due recognition to Naga problem as a ‘political problem’ and the ‘uniqueness of the Naga history.’
With all the established facts, the two organisations have expressed confidence that the Indo-Naga political issue could now be concluded honourably on the basis of historical rights.
Konyak Students’ Union (KSU) and the Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM) have affirmed their support towards an amicable solution to the seven-decade old Naga political movement, which is honourable, acceptable and based on peaceful coexistence.
The decision to this effect was taken during the recent meeting of KSU and AKM held at Mon town on September 5. The two organisations had a threadbare deliberation on various pertinent issues and decided to work together with utmost respect to all the esteemed organisations for a peaceful coexistence of all Naga societies, an update from the AKM and KSU stated on Tuesday.
The two organisations have also denounced the exercise of delimitation process in the state of Nagaland till an honourable solution to Naga political issues is arrived at. In this regard, the two organisations have urged the government not to enforce the delimitation process as it would destabilise the solemn nature of tribal affiliation and also create division within the society.
The two organisations have also affirmed to stand tooth and nail if such unwanted terms of exercise are imposed upon and that they would not be held responsible in the event of any circumstantial failure as a result of “imposed” delimitation process.
KSU and AKM further urged the government to initiate sincere, serious and honest execution of the census programme in the state rather than implementing the unwarranted de-limitation process.
