Dimapur, May 3 (EMN): A number of transport organisations have expressed appreciation to the Nagaland government for upholding the assurance to see to safe release of an abducted tanker driver and a handyman.
The Kohima Petroleum Dealers Association, Dimapur Petroleum Dealers Association, Nagaland Tanker Transport Association, and Oil Tanker Drivers Union issued a note of appreciation on Thursday.
The associations also expressed appreciation to the Eastern Naga Peoples’ Organization, the police and village guards, the Indian Army, and all individuals who ensure the safe release of the abductees.
The oil tanker driver and the handyman who were abducted from Helipong village of Tuensang district in Nagaland about 10 days ago were reported rescued by officials of the ENPO the previous night.
The rescued truckers were identified as Tula Ram Buragohain, driver of the truck and his helper Adman Surin. Both of them were abducted on April 22 by unknown persons suspected to be militants, reports said.
