Dimapur, Sep. 6 (EMN): The Naga National Council (Parent Body) Zeliangrong Region Assam, Manipur and Nagaland (NNC-PB ZLR-R, AMN) and Zeme Youth Organisation (ZYO) Nagaland have condemned the firing incident at Lamhai Namdi village under Peren district by unidentified persons on the morning of September 6.
The NNC (Parent Body) said in a statement that the attackers used automatic guns to burn down many houses and the church building in the village. It stated the Zeliangrong Naga National workers and the people will not bow down to land encroachers but “fight tooth and nail till justice is delivered.” It has also urged the concerned administrators to bring justice.
The Zeme Youth Organisation Nagaland has also condemned the incident in a separate statement, describing it as “inhumane and provoking act.”
“Some miscreants entered the village around 4;30 am with automatic guns and fired more than a 100 rounds without any rhyme and reason further torching houses and a Church,” read the statement.
Saying that similar incidents had happened in the past too, the organisation has asked the competent authorities to take action on the perpetrators and warned that it would take its own course of action if the matter is not settled soon.
