NRMSATA Kma unit dismayed over govt lackadaisical attitude
NRMSATA Kohima unit has fully extended support and co-operation to the phase wise agitation called by the Central Forum.
In a press note the unit convenor, Theyiesanyü Kevin Sote and general secretary, Seyievituo Lese expressed disappointment towards the lackadaisical attitude of the State Government and the department in fulfilling the demands of NRMSATA.
The unit stated that teachers were always compelled to take the matter to the streets to beg for what is rightfully theirs when it should be solved in the offices.
Recollecting the State Government and the Department concerned about quality education in the State, the unit stated that quality education does not compose of mere speeches but words and works needs to go hand in hand to bring changes in the system.
Pointing out the negligence of government for welfare of the teachers even after two months, NRMSATA Kohima unit said this exhibit total negligence on the part of the State Government and the Department.
Further, the unit asked all its members to be fully prepared for the third phase of agitation and requested the right thinking persons, NGOs, unions and well wishers to come forward and support them.
YASU appeals govt to release RMSA teachers’ salaries
In a separated note, Yongnyah Area Students’ Union, Longleng has requested the Education Department (RMSA) and the State Government to look into the matter of RMSA-2016 teachers at the earliest as teachers are demanding their rightfully dues.
While expressing their solidarity to NRMSATA in their genuine cause, YASU president S. Chingsha Phom and general secretary Hanvang Phom stated that despite the NRMSATA-2016 submission of separate representation to the Government for the timely release of all the pending salaries, the Government turned a deaf ear to the representation.
YASU stated that inspite of all the hardships teachers faces, they are sincerely performing their duties and it is a pathetic scene to see that they have to undergo through representations, ultimatums, agitations, etc. every time to receive their hard toiled salaries.
“With this attitude of the Government towards the teachers the lives and careers of thousands of innocent students are at great risks for which the Government would be solely held responsible,” it stated. Further, YASU expressed hope that the department would consider the matter with utmost importance and at the earliest for the welfare of all.
