Dimapur, June 15 (EMN): Vivekananda Welfare Foundation, Dimapur, has felicitated the HSLC and HSSLC toppers under Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) on June 10. On the occasion, all the toppers received mementos and certificates while the first rank holders of HSLC and HSSLC (all three streams) were awarded cash amount of INR 5000 each.
The programme began with welcome address delivered by Niranjan Saha, president of the organisation, while Dr. Dalia Bhattacharjee, an eminent educationist and chief patron of the foundation, briefly narrated on the formation of the organisation in 2015. She also highlighted on the activities of the organisation such as providing medical aids to the poor, educational aids to underprivileged students, donating blood to the ailing and also providing aids to the people affected by natural disasters.
The chief guest of the function, Dr. CP Anto, admitted that he was greatly influenced by the life and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda and always held him in high esteem. He advised the students to adapt to the changes that are taking place everyday. He advised the parents to allow their children to freely choose their career.
Guest speaker, KP Avikasit, former associate professor of Dimapur Government College, urged the students to make an honest approach whenever they embark on any project to be successful.
Advocate YP Gupta and Momen Das, principal of Shemrock School, Dimapur, have also delivered short speeches.
Two students namely Shreyan Chhabra and Jahnvi Jain from the same family were also honoured with mementos for securing high ranks in JEE (Advanced) 2018 and NEET 2018 respectively.
