Imphal, July 4 (EMN): Thadou Students’ Association, General Headquarters (TSA-GHQ), Siamsinpawlpi, General Head Quarter (SSPP-GHQ), Rongmei Naga Students’ Organisation, North East India (RNSO-NEI) and Liangmei Naga Katimai Ruangdi (LNKR-AMN) have called a state wide bandh from 6 am of July 6 over the alleged failure of the state government in recruiting Tribal Language (MIL) Lecturers at Higher Secondary Schools in the state.
A joint media communiqué signed by the Rofica Newmai of LNKR-AMN, Adai Gangmei of RNSO-NEI and Thangtinlen Haokip of TSA-GHQ said that they are compelled to call for the bandh as the state government failed to fulfill its promises for recruitment of Tribal Language (MIL) Lecturers.
Joint Student bodies have served an ultimatum to the state government on June 26 to both the chief minister and the education minister demanding ‘immediate action’ by issuing notification for recruitment of the MIL teacher on or before June 30. But the authority has turned a deaf ear, it said.
The Joint students’ body also appealed the state government to immediately look into the affairs of the Manipur University and urged to restore normalcy in the larger interest of the students Community.
