‘Organic Food Truck’ rolls out for Kma

The truck, carrying vegetables and fruits, will be available in various colonies in Kohima town.[/caption]   Dimapur, April 5 (EMN): Eden Farm’s Organic Food Truck, an initiative under Youth Net’s Impact 5000 by 18, was inaugurated this morning by the administrator of the Kohima Municipal Council, Kovi Meyase, at AG Colony in Kohima town. The Food Truck carries a variety of fresh vegetables and fruits. They are all sourced from Eden farm and from other local farmers. It will be available in various colonies on different days. In his inaugural address, Kovi Meyase congratulated Youth Net and Rekha Rose Dukru of Eden Farm on the noble initiative and expressed hope that it will be a great success while stating that only a vibrant group like Youth Net can come up with something like this. Director of Youth Net, Lezo Putsure spoke about “Impact 5000 by 18” and also lauded entrepreneur Rekha Rose Dukru, who has been in the field for several years and has done a commendable job. He was hopeful that many more young people will be encouraged to take up farming in the days to come. Entrepreneur Rekha Rose Dukru dwelt on the huge scope that the vegetable business has while urging upon young people to take it up. She said that everybody eventually spends money on food and urged that young people need to understand this. “Even if we are not able to do big businesses, we can take up farming”, she emphasized. The chairman of Lower AG Colony, Akhrieo Sorhie also spoke on the occasion and extended his gratitude to Youth Net and Eden Farm for initiating the Food Truck. He assured them of the colony’s support and expressed hope that it will be a success. Anini Nyenga, Project Manager, Youth Net Impact 5000 by 18 chaired the programme. The Eden Farm’s Organic Food Truck will be available at Minister’s Hill on Mondays and Saturdays, Upper Agri on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and AG Colony on Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:00 am to 10:00 am while it will be available at the Secretariat Parking in the afternoons from Monday through Saturday.
