
Dimapur, Dec. 29 (EMN): The 26th edition of the Open T20 Winter Cricket Challenge 2021-2022 got underway at local ground, Wokha on Wednesday.
The tournament, which is the oldest locally organised tournament in Nagaland, changed its theme from ‘Bowl out HIV/AIDS’, which was used for the past 25 years to ‘Green Cover Drive’, a press release informed.
In the first match of the day, LCYO won the toss against Royal Strikers Tsumang and opted to bat first, netting 102 runs with Mhajan as the main contributor who scored 24 runs for the team.
Ayush (35 runs) and Danish (19 run not out) recorded victory for the Royal Strikers Tsumang.
Akash from Royal Strikers Tsumang claimed the man of the match by taking five wickets and one maiden over while bowling in his four over delivery.
In the second match of Salix CC vs Imperials CC, Salix CC won the toss and opted to bat first scoring a total of 164 runs in twenty overs.
Senlong (39 runs) and Nchumthung (28 runs) were the main contributors for Salix CC while Bikram and Yanren of Imperials CC claimed three and two wickets each.
Hemari of Salix CC claimed three wickets in four overs and won the man of the match. Salix CC won the match by four runs in 19.5 overs.
On Dec. 30 (Thursday), Rising Star will be playing against GA CC in the first match while the second match will be played between Dashing Dudes and Blitzkrieg.
A total of 21 teams from various districts and players from different states are participating.
