Open Letter to the Director Duda

Sir, Through this esteemed column, may I seek your prompt attention with regard to the total negligence of the concerned department or rather pragmatically unconcerned behaviour that is to say; on it’s failure to oversee whether this particular designated backward area/Satoi area has benefited or ameliorates the area through backward funding as the department oftentimes overlooked and treated as negligible zone; however, it is to be noted seriously that the Department of Under-Developed Areas (DUDA)was established with the sole objective and policy to uplift, improve and promote the living standards of the people in backward areas; that is, mostly eastern parts and some designated under-developed zone in other parts of the state. Satoi range had also been included and designated as backward pocket under Zunheboto district as this particular region is situated in one of the most interior part and geographically located in the eastern part of the state. This are just some few facts about satoi range and where the government of Nagaland spotted the region as under-developed area and thus given recognition for special attention in development sector and thereby entrusted the department of under-developed areas(DUDA)to cover and monitor the developmental activities but so far the department is very irresponsible and gave no attention and rather marooned it; despite various developmental projects and schemes has had been proposed every year by the government which in reality is entirely a different story for the past years and decades. According to information collected through RTI,it is extremely disheartening and disappointing to witness the mishandling and mismanagement of backward funds by the so called contractors’ and firms where the department must also have done proper inspection and verification before the final pending bills are paid. It is high time for the department and it’s execution wing to deliver justice to the people and insofar may also amount to take it’s own resort if the concerned department fails to show sincerity in discharging it’s duties fairly and efficiently. Therefore, as a concerned citizen, I’m humbled to make an ardent appeal to your esteemed office to kindly look into the grievances and initiate appropriate and necessary action to meet the objective and policy of the state government.
