Dear Sir,
Regarding the present troubles and tensions in the Ralan Circle of Wokha district of Nagaland, I as a Senior Citizen of Nagaland, would like to give this piece of information through an open letter. That Sir, the area in question is not at all a disputed land between Assam – Nagaland. The area is well-within Ralan Circle, under SDO (C) of Wokha district. For God’s sake don’t listen to the false and distorted reports of the self-interested persons and take the risk of open and serious confrontations between your state/government and Nagaland on behalf of some refugees and illegal immigrants. The area is cultivated fields of the local people. There is no single inch of Adivasi land in the present troubled area. The question is, the tenants (cultivators) trying to become landowners and masters.
So, please don’t send armed forces to the said area to aggravate and complicate the situations. If the Advasis (tenants) want to co-exist, everyone of them, without exception, sign affidavits that they will remain loyal to the landowners and give them their due shares without any excuses every year the produce of the fields. Otherwise, there will be more troubles as the patience of the landowners has been long tested and now crossing limits.
