Subject: Regarding Inconvenience Faced by Passengers Due to Delay in Entry at Airport
Respected Sir/Madam,
I would like to express my serious concern regarding the inconvenience being faced by passengers at the airport today.
Passengers travelling on the Imphal-bound flight scheduled for departure at 09:45 AM are being made to wait outside the airport entry gate even after 09:10 AM, without being allowed to enter the terminal premises. This has caused severe discomfort, especially considering the hot weather conditions.
There are hardly any adequate seating arrangements outside the entry area, and proper cooling facilities such as fans are also lacking. Elderly passengers, women, children, and those with health issues are facing unnecessary hardship while standing in the heat for a prolonged period.
Air travel passengers are expected to report well in advance for security and check-in procedures. However, keeping passengers stranded outside the terminal without proper arrangements defeats the purpose and creates avoidable stress and inconvenience.
It is requested that the Airports Authority of India kindly look into the matter urgently and ensure:
1. Timely entry of passengers into the terminal building.
2. Adequate seating arrangements outside the entry gate.
3. Proper fans/cooling facilities and drinking water arrangements.
4. Better crowd management during peak flight hours.
Passengers deserve basic comfort and humane treatment while waiting at the airport.
Kindly take necessary corrective measures at the earliest.
Yours faithfully,
Rajesh Kumar Sethi,
AICC Minority Department National Coordinator - Incharge Manipur and Nagaland
