Dimapur, July 7 (EMN): The Chumukedima administration has ordered closure of all “open butchers shop” located along the stretch of National Highway 29 between Purana Bazaar and Chumukedima, in Dimapur, a DIPR report on Saturday has stated.
The government bulletin cited the extra additional commissioner of Chumukedima, Thejavizo Nakro, as having informed that the administration, village council chairmen, and head GBs of villages in said area had resolved to shut down all open meat shops in their jurisdiction. Their contention being that sale of any type of meat should be inside ‘well-maintained and hygienic enclosure/chamber.’
“He therefore, informed establishments engage (sic) in selling mutton, beef, fish, pork, chickens etc. on the roadside open butcher shed to make necessary arrangement of shifting within 15 days. Failure to comply with the joint meeting resolution will be penalised as provided by law,” it stated.
