Kohima, May 11 (EMN): The 11th edition of the Open Basketball Tournament will be held from May 13 to the 19th, at Khuochiezie (local ground) in Kohima. Eighteen teams have confirmed participation.
The tournament is being organised by Suncity Kohima in association with the Nagaland Basketball Association.
According to the president of Suncity, Medozhazo Rutsa 14 teams are from Kohima, two from Dimapur, and one each from Peren and Mokokchung.
This time around, an android application for the tournament was launched for better accessibility of the match details. One can find fixtures and other details in the app.
The league phase will involve 32 matches. The top two teams from each of the four groups will be selected for the quarterfinals. The matches will be played from 12 noon to 9 pm.
The champions will receive INR 60,000 and the runner-up INR 30,000. The two losing semi-finalists will get INR 10,000 each and the most valuable player (MVP) of the tournament will receive INR 10,000.
Apart from basketball games, the tournament will provide platform for local and upcoming artists and musicians as well. It will feature local artists like Moko Koza, LC Sekhose, Seyievinuo Chuzho, Keneisenuo Sorhie etc., the organisers said.
Entry tickets are priced at INR 50 for ‘gallery’ and INR 1000 for ‘season.’

Pool-A: Stallions, Road Runners, St.Joseph's College, Trouncers.
Pool-B: TMB, Ophidians, Amplified, CMD Hoopers.
Pool-C: Taurus, Elite Basketball Team, Kohima Royals, XLR8, Backyard Ballers.
Pool-D: Orca, Tepenjem, Last Kings, Art City, Warriors, Jumpers
