Open Basketball Tournament announced

[caption id="attachment_242500" align="alignright" width="700"] Organisers of the Open Basketball Tournament 2019 launching the logo of the tournament, in Kohima on Saturday.[/caption] Our Correspondent Kohima, April 6 (EMN): The 11th edition of Open Basketball Tournament (OBT) 2019 will be held from May 13 to 19th at Khuochiezie in Kohima, announced the organisers of the sporting event at a press conference in Kohima on Saturday. The league tournament is organised by the Suncity Kohima in association with the Nagaland Basketball Association. Entry form will be available at Light House, Fancy Market, Sun City Kohima Office, and P Khel Kohima from April 12 onwards and registration fee per team is INR 10,000, informed the organisers. Giving details of the sporting extravaganza, president of Suncity Kohima, Er Medozhazo Rutsa said that digital scoreboard, 24 second shot clock, hydraulic rings, fluorescent indoor lighting, and LED board display will be used during the day-night tournament besides live coverage. As for the rules and guidelines, it will be based on the Federation International Basketball Association (FIBA), he added. The prize money is INR 60,000 for the champion; INR 30,000 along with trophy and citations for the runners-up; INR 10,000 each for the semi-finalists; and INR 10,000 for the most valuable player of the tournament. The organisers said that qualified referees from FIBA will officiate the matches at the knockout stage, and referee and coach clinic will be held from April 26 to 28 at Christ King Higher Secondary School, Kohima.
