BADMINTON
Winners receiving prizes during the Open Badminton and Carrom Board Championship held at Government High School Japan Riba, Chozuba, on Saturday.


DIMAPUR — A two-day Open Badminton and Carrom Board Championship was held at Government High School (GHS) Japan Riba, Chozuba, on August 22 and 23.


According to an update, the event was attended by Dr. Tchitu Nienu, EAC Chozuba, as the special guest.


In the carrom board competition, the team of Uzhozo Rhakho and Nutsuyi Nienu secured the first position, while the second position went to Khrukhozo Shijoh and Vekhwunu Ringa.

In the badminton events, under the mixed doubles category, Wetelo Mero and Lhitiü Lasuh emerged as the winners, while the second position was claimed by Mevete Nuh and Dieweü Wetsah.


In the men’s doubles category, the first position was secured by Wetelo Mero and Mevete Nuh, with Kunusayi Rhakho and Tsuhto Rhakho finishing second.


The special guest on the occasion encouraged participants to utilise the opportunity not only for competition but also to maintain a balance between physical and mental health. He expressed appreciation to the organisers for creating a platform for young people and elders to come together and enjoy the competition.


Nengpichong Singsit, EAC Chetheba, also addressed and encouraged the participants.
