The
resource person and others during the second phase of training on the online
civil registration system of births and deaths in Wokha on Thursday.
- DIMAPUR — Training
sessions on the online civil registration system of births and deaths were
conducted in Wokha and Mon districts on Thursday.
- The session (second phase) in Wokha was held at the DESO
office with Chonbeni Oren Patton, ESP, Kohima, serving as the resource person.
According to a DIPR report, representatives from various villages across the
district attended the programme.
- The resource person and master trainer highlighted the
importance of digital registration, emphasising how the world is rapidly
becoming digitalised and the need to keep up with this progress.
- She also highlighted the digitalisation of civil
registration processes and pointed out that online registration in Nagaland is
currently below 1%, placing the state far behind others.
- R Thsanso, DESO and deputy director, in his closing remarks,
commended Wokha for its high performance compared to other districts and
emphasised that the training was crucial.
- He explained what a User ID is and its role in the system.
He thanked representatives from various villages for attending and expressed hope
that they would utilise the training to enhance the service system through
digital means, eliminating the need for lengthy and costly trips to town. He
urged everyone to visit the office if they encountered any issues or required
assistance.
- The training (second phase) in Mon was held at the District
Economics and Statistics Office at the conference hall of the District Rural
Development Agency (DRDA).
- The main objective of the training was to enhance and
empower the capacity of registrars of births and deaths in the district for
onboarding and efficient utilisation of the digital registration system, stated
an update.
- Economics and Statistics officers Dr. Tumbenthung Y Humtsoe
and Ingauzeule Kenrang from the Directorate of Economics and Statistics were
the resource persons for the training.
