‘One Step towards Cleanliness’ kick starts at Kohima

[caption id="attachment_130070" align="aligncenter" width="565"] Resource person with the participants on the first day of the seminar at LCS Building, Kohima on Tuesday.[/caption] Dimapur, August 1 (EMN): A 15 days seminar on cleanliness and hygiene on theme “One Step towards Cleanliness” kick started on August 1, at LCS Building, Kohima in observation of Swachh Bharat Mission. The seminar is being organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kohima in collaboration with the Directorate of Urban Development Swachh Bharat Mission Government of Nagaland. Speaking at the inaugural programme as a resource person, consultant (IEC) WSSO PHED, Adi Nakhro, challenged the youth to work as partners and face responsibilities lies ahead. She advised using of sanitation toilets by quoting the slogan “No see, no touch, no smell”. Pointing out that health hygiene and solid and liquid waste management as the key issues of waste management, she said personal hygiene is the overall wellbeing of a person. She also stressed on principles of waste management which includes the 3 Rs, reduce, reuse and recycle. Further she quoted the Mother Teresa’s slogan, “If everyone would clean their doorsteps, the whole world would be clean”. Action plan of 15 days Swachhta Pakhwada was briefed out by Peter while Swachhta Pakhwada pledge was led by Swedehol Thol. The program was chaired by Viseno Nakhro while Thejaselhou Üsou invoked God’s blessings and welcome note was delivered by Rokoselie Nakhro. Special song was presented by Rukuvi Pucho.
