One shot dead by unidentified miscreants at Diphu

Diphu, May 15 (EMN): One person was shot dead by unidentified miscreants on Diphu-Dhansiri Road at Haticamp under Diphu police station, Karbi Anglong around 10:45 am on Saturday.

The victim has been identified as Debojit Singha, a resident of Sitlabari, Diphu, who runs a mobile shop in Diphu town.

Informing about the incident to journalists, DSP Nahid Karishma said that the 21-year-old entrepreneur was the son of Dipak Singha of Sitlabari. He was riding a bike with another person, when two miscreants stopped them, snatched their mobile phone and their bike at Haticamp, Diphu-Dhansiri road while one of them shot Debojit with a 22 pistol. Three empty bullet cartridges were recovered from the spot and an investigation is going on in this regard, informed the DSP.
