Kohima, July 31 (EMN): Two days after five boys drowned in a sweeping current of the Tsutha river between Huker under Tuensang district and Aghunato in Zunheboto district, search and rescue volunteers retrieved one more body on Tuesday morning, taking the number of this monsoon’s casualties to four. The remains of two of the boys were recovered downstream on Monday while a young girl’s body was found at Dzücharü at Phesama in Kohima district on the same day.
Over a thousand volunteers from neighbouring villages of Huker and Aghunato along with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel were said to be engaged in the search operations to find the other two boys whom the authorities fear could be dead. Due to inclement weather, official sources said the operation was suspended Tuesday evening, but it would resume at day break on August 1.
