Dimapur, Jan. 16 (EMN): One person identified as Daniel died in a road accident on January 15 between Pokhungri-Avangkhu, while another person sustained injuries when the motorbike in which they were travelling fell into a gorge near Pokhungri village.
The incident took place around 1100 hours on January 10 when they were proceeding towards Avangkhu village in which they were engaged as labourers.
The Phek Battalion of the Assam Rifles, on receiving the information, launched a rescue operation in which one person was rescued from the accident site. The injured person was provided first aid by the nursing assistant. The body of the deceased person was handed over to the family members.
