One killed in car accident near Medziphema

DIMAPUR — A 47-year-old man, identified as P Longang Konyak, tragically lost his life in a car accident that occurred near the ICAR research centre in Jharnapani, Medziphema, on Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, the accident took place around 3:10 pm, and Konyak was declared dead at the scene.

He was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was reportedly travelling from Kohima towards Dimapur at the time of the accident.

Preliminary investigations suggested that over-speeding could have been a contributing factor to the crash, police said.

Following standard procedures, authorities have handed over the body of the deceased to his family members.
