Personnel from the Fire and Emergency Services douse the fire at Tenyiphe-1 B Khel, 6th Mile area in Dimapur on January 19.

Dimapur, Jan. 20 (EMN): One kutcha house was reported razed to the ground in a devastating fire which broke out at Tenyiphe-I, B-Khel, 6th Mile area in Dimapur on January 19.

A report from the Fire and Emergency Services stated that it received information at around 4:51 pm following which two fire tenders along with sufficient equipment and personnel from Chümoukedima fire station were pressed into service. The report added that it took about 20 minutes to bring the fire under control and prevented it from spreading to surrounding areas.

According to the report, properties worth INR 1.5 lakh was lost in the inferno. The cause of the fire was suspected to be from an electrical short circuit.
