Dimapur, April 5 (EMN): The Kohima battalion of the Assam Rifles have informed about the detainment of a person said to have been in possession of illegal arms and ammunition. The person was said to have been detained during an operation at lower Chandmari colony in Kohima on April 4, according to a press release from the security force.
The accused was identified to be one M Vicha Sekhose (47), and a resident of Lower Chandmari colony. The troops said to have recovered a 7.65 pistol, a 7.65 revolver, three 7.65 live rounds, one 7.65 ‘misfired’ round, a magazine; and tools for weapon repairing, besides documents from the person’s possession.
The Assam Rifles stated that the accused and the confiscated items were handed over to Kohima South Police Station for further investigation.
