DIMAPUR — A one-day training on the Goods and Services Tax (GST) for drawing and disbursing officers (DDOs), dealers, and stakeholders was held on August 19 at CKS Hall in Tuensang. The event was organised by the Commissioner of State Taxes.
Yanrenthung, assistant commissioner of state taxes, Kohima, delivered the keynote address and led the first session, where he discussed the importance of GST registration and contributing effectively to the state's revenue system, as well as the importance of having a Tax Clearance Certificate, stated an update.
Biju Sharma of the IT Cell then gave a detailed demonstration on how to register and file returns.

The second session was presented by Mongko Chang, CSTO Tuensang, for dealers and stakeholders. This was followed by an interactive session where participants from various government departments, dealers, and trade bodies asked questions and sought clarification on implementation challenges.
In the first session, the training also featured a short programme arranged by the assistant commissioner of state taxes, Tuensang office, for the DDOs. The programme was chaired by T Likhumse, BAO, with a welcome address delivered by Thsitilong Sangtam, CSTO Tuensang.
