[dropcap]A[/dropcap] very big kudos to one of our elders by the name of Sezo, who expressed his concern for our land our children in the esteemed dailies recently. It is really worth mentioning that such elders are truly rare amongst our midst today. Only if the present leaders in our government, churches and civil organisations realizes the dangers of annihilation of our Naga people by illegal immigrants which is not very far off if the present trend of the unabated influx is not checked or stopped immediately.Recently, the Kohima police who apprehended 35 ILP defaulters deserves a big salute and a thousand claps from everyone. Wish our other district police and administrations also learn something from their Kohima counterpart. It is very sad that our present day leaders are only much concerned for their own prestige and chairs knowing the doom which awaits our land and our children. Do they ever wonder what’s going to happen to all their wealth, status and power after they’re gone? Were those things more important or their coming generations? Remember, my leaders, you have to answer your maker sooner or later for what you have done for your people and your land when He calls you back. You should be able to answer what deeds you did to safeguard your own kindred. If you really want to start working for your land as true sons and daughters of your own beloved soil, lets start today by the issue of the Inner Line Permit first.
1. All Inner Line Permits (ILPs) guarantor should have a photograph affixed of a guarantor along with the ILP holder in the document so that he/she will responsible for any crime committed or overstays the time period of the ILP.
2. Only one ILP per one guarantor must be allotted so that the number of ILPs issued is not used for vested interests and other devious schemes. This system will curb the dalal system of some person making easy through issuing ILPs unlimited and randomly.
3 All necessary documents like birth certificates, indigenous certificates, scheduled tribe certificate must be attached with the ILP guarantor form.
4. ILP s should be personally verified by DCs/ SPs personally so that various anomalies and loopholes such as in the issuance of aadhar card, ration card, residential certificates,LPGs card etc. are not manipulated by persons who look for easy money without knowing the dangers posed to
our future generations.
5. It should be made mandatory for all ILP applicants to produce a medical fitness certificates or a blood test results certificate from proper medical authority.
6. Physical presence of both the ILP applicant as well as the guarantor should be done before the district magistrate while applying or renewing of ILP.
7. There should be a nodal agency in every department that should be on a rotation basis which should be transparent and accountable for verifying and issuing of ILPs/Driving licences/Trade permits etc. so that it does not become corrupted or manipulative. Such measure will ensure safeguarding our inherent rights from illegal aliens.
8. Total number of ILPs allotted to each district annually should be limited so that our land will not be swallowed by illegal immigrants which we are witnessing now.
9.ILPs should not be renewed for more than a limited number per year, say three times and should be re-issued only after a lapse of a year or two of its expiry .So that the indigenous citizens and the Naga people will be saved.
10 .ILP defaulters and their guarantors should be strictly dealt with and their names published in the newspapers or names/photos displayed outside the DC/ SP’s office so that every citizen becomes serious in preserving our land for our children.
My dear fellow Nagas, should we remain as mute spectators and keep on playing our petty divisive games or should we all come together and unite as one when the outsiders and divisive forces are so much determined to snatch away our land, jobs and everything? Please forget all your past misunderstandings and come together as one people with one goal to strengthen the cause for a land which belongs to ours. It is our God-given bounden duty to preserve and secure it for our children .Or else, both of us will be doing an unpardonable deed to our coming generations. Anyone who does not love his own people and land can be rightly called as a traitor, anti-Naga and a betrayer.
